Orem High Cross Country Team Meeting:

For athletes and parents of 9th – 12th grade students. If you would like to compete on the Orem High Cross Country Team – Please come and join us on Tuesday, May 29th at 3:00 p.m. in the Orem High School Little Theater. It will be a great opportunity for you to meet the coaching staff, ask questions, and find out more about the requirements to be on the Cross Country Team.

 

Yearbook Distribution:

This will be this Friday from 11:00 to 1:00 in the Commons.  Please make sure your fines are paid and come pick up your yearbook.

OHS Girl’s Basketball:

There will be a meeting for all girls interested in playing basketball in Coach Rhees' room immediately after A3 tomorrow, Wednesday..

 

The OHS Advanced Orchestra:

They played on Friday at the State Orchestra Festival.  The kids did an amazing job overall and earned Superior (Gold) ratings.  They played music of Vaughan Williams, Mahler and Mozart.  It was one of the most challenging sets of music at the two day event.  This is our 6th consecutive year getting Superior ratings with the Orchestra!

Ballroom Tryouts Info:

Come join the OHS Ballroom Dance Teams!  All students who will be Freshman through Seniors next year (2012‑13) are encouraged to tryout for the teams!  Experience helpful but not necessary.  Students will learn the dances they need to know during Tryouts!  All those who are interested should attend the tryouts. The last tryout is today, May 18th 3:00pm – 4:30pm in Room 1222.

Senior Send Off Assembly Tryout:

 Senior Dinner Dance:

This will be next Friday, May 25th. SENIORS BUY YOUR TICKET BY NEXT TUESDAY, MAY 25TH!! Pay your $20.00 to the financial office or online but make sure you buy your ticket soon, you don’t want to miss this delicious dinner and last senior dance!

 

Senior Showcase:

This will be held this Friday at 7:00 in the auditorium. One hour of great song and dance and hilarious scenes!   Only $3.

Come join the OHS Ballroom Dance Teams!  All students who will be Freshman through Seniors next year (2012‑13) are encouraged to tryout for the teams!  Experience helpful but not necessary.  Students will learn the dances they need to know during Tryouts!  All those who are interested should attend the tryouts held on May 15‑18th 3:00pm – 4:30pm in Room 1222.

Seniors:         Students who made the High Honor Roll based on a weighted GPA have been notified. If you feel that you should have been in this category, please see Mrs. Hall in Room 2105 ASAP. Please bring a transcript so she can calculate your weighted GPA and see if you truly qualify.

Careers in Aviation:
SkyWest Airlines is sponsoring an Aviation Open House this Saturday, May 5th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a career in aviation to visit with pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, ground crew, and more. You can tour the SkyWest hangar and learn about the high demand aviation careers. If you have ever thought about a career in aviation you don’t want to miss this open house. See Mr. Wakefield in room 2202 for more information.

Senior Panoramic Picture:
This will take place next Wednesday, May 2nd @ 11:55 a.m. during pride lunch in the Field House. Pick up order forms from the main office – you will have to prepay in order to get pictures.

PTSA Scholarship:
Applications for the PTSA scholarships are available in the Career Center and the front office. Senior students who are members of PTSA can apply. Applications are due on May 8th in the Career Center. Make sure you get your application in for a chance at this scholarship!

Drama Students:
Drama 4 students for next year-remember you have 2 choices for the mandatory parent meeting. This Monday at 8:30 or Tues at 6:00.
And everybody else! Don’t forget the Starving Actors Showcase on Monday at 7:00. Admission is canned goods for the food bank!

Volleyball Open Gym:
This will be held on Mon and Wed starting Monday, April 30. It will go from 3:00-4:30 in the A-Gym. Any questions, see Coach Real in 2110.

Students: Anyone interested in taking computer science classes next year please visit with your counselor. A Computer Science Introductory class will be held here at OHS during second semester of this next school year. This class will teach the basics of computer programming. An AP Computer Science class will be held at Timpanogos High School for both first and second semesters. This class will focus on developing programming skills in Java as well as programming to develop apps. Again, see your counselor for more information.

Students: If you have received ANY scholarships (even if you’re not going to accept it!), please report them to the career center.
