Brand New Club:   
        A new club is being formed at OHS called Math Girls Rock!  The club meets after school two times each semester.  Activities include games, prizes, and interesting math-related projects like origami and cryptography.  Come to an informational meeting with FREE PIZZA during lunch on Tuesday. Hosted by the OHS Math Club in Mr. Coxson's Room 3106 from 11:55 – 12:50.  All interested young women are invited to attend the informational meeting.  Bring a friend!

Blood Drive:   
        The first Blood Drive of the year is coming up.  Oct 8th all day.  Sign up for your time in coach Steele's room.  You need to be at least 16 years of age and everybody has to have a Parent permission slip signed on the date of the blood drive you can get the permission slip in Steele's room or the front office. 

National Honor Society:
        If you have a cumulative GPA of 3.85 or above and have not received an invitation to apply to NHS, please go to room 2206 and speak with Ms. Young. Applications are due by Monday, Oct. 1st in room 2206.

Seniors:    College Day is Wednesday, September 26th @ 8:00 a.m.
        All colleges/universities and trade schools throughout the state will be here to discuss important information. This is a great opportunity to get questions answered and make an informed decision about furthering your education. Please wear your best dress and come ready with questions.

All Students:
        There will be a Scholarship and Financial Aid Evening on Wednesday, September 26th @ 6:00 p.m. here in the auditorium. A state representative will present on how to pay for college. College/university representatives will be in attendance to answer any questions you may have. If you have any questions please see the counseling office.

Students :     If you haven't picked up your ID card please do so immediately in the Student Finance Office. All students who had their picture taken will have an ID card.
       
        For those who were missing your card – those are ready to be picked up as well.

PTSA REFLECTIONS THEME: "The Magic of a Moment"
        Entries due October 19th to the front office

Sophomores and Juniors:
        Orem High will be offering the PSAT on Wednesday, October 17th at 8:00 am.  Not only is the PSAT a great way to practice for the SAT or even the ACT, there are many scholarships that require the PSAT.  If you would like to sign up to take the PSAT, please register at the Finance Office.  The cost for the test is $15.  Once you have signed up, you may see Mr. Kenley in the Counseling Office to receive the Official Student Guide to the PSAT.  There are a limited number of tests available and they will go to the first students to sign up, so don't delay."

ACT:       We will be offering an ACT Prep Class that will meet each Tuesday for 4 weeks starting Oct. 2nd at 2:30. The cost is $30.00 which includes an ACT prep book. To sign up for this class pay your $30.00 at the financial office.
