The application deadline for applying for the Orem Youth Council (OYC) has been extended to September 23, 2013. The Orem Youth Council is a fun activity designed to provide learning and service opportunities to high school students in grades 10 through 12. The OYC generally meets once or twice a month during the school year with its advisors from the Orem City Attorney’s office. Members of the OYC will have the opportunity to learn more about the city government and issues facing the community. Applications can be picked up in the school office and should be returned by September 23, 2013 to the Orem Mayor’s Office at 56 North State Street, Room 104.

Our world seems to be over run by technology. There is a time and place, but the drivers' seat is not the time, nor place. OMG and LMAO on a bright little screen in a dark moving car distracts the driver – which is you. You know who you are and so do we. Here at Orem High, we want our students to enjoy their lives – free of fatalities. Do not be the person we have to cry over, because we will. No texting or talking on your cell phones while your driving. If you have an emergency, pull off the road. Otherwise, It Can Wait!
