National Honor Society will be having our 2nd service project this Tuesday, November 19th at 3:00 pm in the commons. Bring your service log and come on time. We will be making things for local hospitals. See you there!
Seniors, college and scholarship application deadlines are coming up fast. If you would like help filling out your applications, the counselors will be holding Open Lab nights November 19th, 20th, and 21st. The counselors will be available to help answer any questions you may have about the applications. There will also be representatives from BYU, UVU, the U of U, Utah State, Weber State, and SUU to help with their specific school applications. This is a great opportunity to get help on these applications. Do not miss out!
Winter Guard season is starting soon. Winter guard is a sport that combines dance and equipment, like flags, rifles, and sabers. Come learn to spin at auditions this Friday from 4-8 pm and Saturday from 9 am-12 pm. Anyone from grades nine through twelve can join. Bring water and clothes that you can move in. Lunch is provided for Saturday.
The lunch room is looking for lunch workers, you will receive a free lunch for your time. If you are interested please see the cafeteria manager Mrs. Ward.
Any student taking a Concurrent Enrollment class this year must return the Parent Permission Form, signed by a parent, to the Concurrent Enrollment teacher or Mrs. Huntington by this Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 to receive college credit.
Join the Quidditch Team!
Quidditch is now here at Orem High. Practice is every Tuesday except today and also on Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The fee is $25.00 and includes your own broom you can personalize and eventually a t-shirt. Bargain Ball is coming up fast, so boys–get your dates! It's on Saturday, November 16th and tickets are ONLY $5.00!! It's going to be the best and least expensive dance of the year, so start planning and get your dates! The dress code will be enforced and student I.D. is required.
Students just a reminder to get your yellow Emergency form into the main office ASAP. It is very important that we get them back.
The Chess Club is hosting a lunchtime Chess Tournament that starts today, Wednesday Nov. 13th. Sign up in the Media Center. You must have Pride Lunch in order to play.

Attend the Snow College Admission and Scholarship Open House Thursday, November 21st 5:30pm-8:30pm at the Holiday Inn Express on University Parkway in Orem. At the Open House they will waive the application fee, help you
apply for – and possible receive – a scholarship on the spot, talk about Financial Aid and learn more about housing options! See Mrs. Jacobs in the Career Center for more information!
If you are interested in a healthcare career, the HOSA club is hosting a panel of speakers to answer questions about on related career options! It will be on today, Tuesday November 12 during pride and lunch in the Little Theater. You don't have to be a member of the HOSA club to attend; EVERYONE is welcome! (If you plan on attending, tell Mr. Steele before the 12th he will give you an excuse note to get you out of your 3rd period 5-10 minutes early on the day of the panel!)
