These Scholarships are available to Seniors who have earned a Key Card. You can pick applications in the career center. Then bring the applications to Mrs. Cragun in the Copy Center. If you don’t have a card and you want to apply, just ask a teacher for a card.

All applications are due by March 24th.

 

On March 10th and 11th Orem High School students triumphed at State FCCLA STAR Events Competitions. All seven of our representatives earned the privilege of representing Utah in the FCCLA National STAR Events competition in Washington DC this summer!! Nicole Jacobson and Melissa Arnoldsen took first place in Chapter in Review Portfolio. Kaitlynn Knapp and Rachel Miller took first place Interpersonal Communications. Megan Pearson, Megan Shumway and Emma Stoddard took second place in Advocacy. All of these students earned Gold Medals. GO TIGERS!!

 

Today is a big day in the school store. It’s Frosty Fruit Friday – get your favorite slushy drink for only $1.00.  You can also get your favorite flavor of G2 Gatorade for only 50 cents.  And while you’re visiting the store, check out the clearance price we have on all remaining hoodies. The price is so good you’ll want more than one.  All that at the school store on the second floor.

Congratulations to Jehicob Torres who was the runner up for State Sterling Scholar in Social Science, and Amaya Bickmore who was runner up for State Sterling Scholar in Instrumental Music. Well done to both these amazing students.

Current 9th Grader Registration Dates

Registration presentations and materials will be given to Canyon View Jr. High students on Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday March 18, and to Lakeridge Jr. High students on Thursday, March 19.

There will be a Parent Night on Thursday, March 19 at 7:00 pm in the Orem High School Little Theater.

Registration begins Tuesday, March 24 at 3:30 pm and will close Monday March 30 at 11:59 pm.

OHS Counselors will return to Lakeridge JH on Wednesday, April 1, and to Canyon View JH on Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3 to check schedules.

Bring copies of your resume, dress professionally and be prepared to talk to hiring representatives.

The Pediatric Health Behavior Research Group at BYU is conducting a research study evaluating adolescents’ sleep behavior and brain response to food using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Participants may be compensated up to $100. See Mrs. Jacobs in the Career Center for contact information.

All Juniors will take the ACT test TOMORROW Tuesday March 3rd.

You must bring:

  • Two #2 Pencils
  • A Photo ID (School ID, Drivers License or Passport)
  • A Calculator if you want one

Your room assignments for taking the test will be posted around the school on goldenrod papers. Be in your testing room at 7:45! You cannot start the test late, no exceptions. If you have not filled out your ACT answer form in your English class see your English teacher asap.

 TOMORROW Sophomores and Seniors don’t have to come to school until 12:40. Here is the schedule for that day.

B5       12:40 – 1:00

B6       1:05 – 1:25

B7       1:30 – 1:50

B8       1:55 – 2:15

All students taking the Government and Citizen Classes are invited to a presentation called Milestones of Freedom sponsored and conducted by the Excel Club of Orem High today at 1:30 to 3:00 pm in the Little Theater.  Extra Credit will be given for those in the Government Classes and there will be treats.  Come and learn what it is like to become a Citizen of the United States
