During FCCLA Week February 8th-12th we will be jump starting our recycling here at OHS. We will be delivering green boxes to every classroom to start recycling paper and cardboard products.

On Friday during lunch Green Fiber is bringing a big scale to our school to weigh your recycled products. The top 5% of our students who bring the most paper to recycle will be invited to a pizza party here at school and be entered into a drawing for gift certificates (itunes and Walmart). START COLLECTING NOW! SEE YOU FRIDAY!!

Wear RED on Wed to recognize FCCLA’s efforts to REDuce, Reuse and Recycle come be in a picture during lunch wearing RED and be in the news!!

“Tigers, student council packets are now available in the main office. Come be the difference you want to see in our school. All packets due to Mr. Coxson room 3106 by 2:45 Feb 19th. See Mr. Coxson, Mrs. Cragun or Mrs. Real if you have any questions.”

“If you took the PSAT test in October, your score reports are now in the Counseling Office.  Please come by the counseling office as soon as possible to pick up your PSAT score reports.”

“Are you a junior who is interested in developing leadership skills, learn more about our government, and how to fulfill your civic duties?  You may be interested in Girls State and Boys State!  If you would like more information, or would like to apply for Girls State or Boys State, see Mr. Kenley in the Counseling Office.”

Please congratulate our two All-State Artists this year.  They are Brolin Roney and Caroline McCann.  Their work will hang in the All-State Art Show down in the Springville Art Museum this year.

Sweethearts Dance: February 13th 8:00 – 11:00. Cost is $15 pre-sale, $20 at the door. This is a blacklight dance, so wear white or fluorescent colors. YOU MUST SHOW YOUR STUDENT ID TO ATTEND THIS DANCE. If you do not have an ID you can pay $5 at the financial office and see Mrs. Billings for a replacement.

FCCLA is selling bogo Jamba Juice discount cards for $10.  Talk to Mrs. Cox or a member of FCCLA to get you cards.

NHS Seniors: The NHS Scholarship application is on line at https://aim.applyists.net/NHS. The deadline is February 16th. You can pick up the information in the career center.

  • Jiffy Lube what drives you (one $5,000 and one $1,500)
  • ACLU activist scholar (two worth $1,500 each)
  • UIAAA student athlete scholarship (5 scholarships worth $1,500 each)
  • Nudge Scholarship for NHS (one $500 to an OHS student)
  • Nudge Scholarship for FBLA (one $500 scholarship to an OHS student)
