Youth Football Camp June 1-3

The Orem High Football team will be hosting an instructional camp for elementary and junior high aged kids that will be in 1st grade to 8th grade next year. The camp will be held at Orem High School from June 1st to June 3rd, 2015. 1st grade through 5th grade will go from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. 6th – 8th grade will go from 10:30 am to noon. All kids are welcome to participate.

Cost is $35 for 1 child, $55 for 2 children and $75 for 3 children which includes a camp t-shirt for each paid participant. Payments can be made at the OHS financial office or on myschoolfees.com you must register as a user, choose Orem High, go to public payments and choose the camp(s) to pay securely with a Visa or Mastercard. Questions about payment should be referred to Krysti Condie at 801-610-8165.

Please print the registration form and bring it completed and signed to the first day of camp. Be sure to indicate the size of t-shirt needed for your child.

Registration presentations and materials will be given to Canyon View Jr. High students on Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday March 18, and to Lakeridge Jr. High students on Thursday, March 19.

There will be a Parent Night on Thursday, March 19 at 7:00 pm in the Orem High School Little Theater.

Registration begins Tuesday, March 24 at 3:30 pm and will close Monday March 30 at 11:59 pm.

OHS Counselors will return to Lakeridge JH on Wednesday, April 1, and to Canyon View JH on Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3 to check schedules.

OHS Football Players Sign Letters of Intent

Five Orem High School football players are heading on to the next level to play for schools all over the west.  Three of them signed their letters of intent on Wednesday, Feb. 3rd at a signing ceremony at Orem High School. Malcolm Macatiag will be heading to Pima CC in Tucson, AZ next fall. Isaiah Frame will head to Nebraska to be a Coffeyville Red Raven. Sampson Saluone has signed his letter of intent to become a Badger at Snow College. Junior Latu is heading to Weber State and Andrew Zollinger is expected to announce his intended destination soon. The Tiger family is proud of our boys and excited for them as they move on to bigger and better things.

School Community Council Elections

Dear Parents and Guardians:

The Orem High School Community Council elections will take place on Monday, October 20, from 8:30-2:45 in the main office. The School Community Council allocates and oversees the use of state Trustlands money to improve Orem High School. Currently, there are 19 council positions available, including the positions held by Marianne Klinger, Brian Ellingford, Jack Young, James Jones, Jana Houle, Jennifer Gray, Kathy Rowe, Kirby Glad, Mary McCann, Ray Hingson, and Zach Knappenberger, whose terms have ended or who have moved outside of Orem High School boundaries.

If you are a parent or guardian of a student currently enrolled at Orem High School, and if you wish to become a member of the School Community Council, please submit your name at the school’s main office before 8:00 am on Monday, October 20. You will be included on the ballot for the election. No election will be held if there are fewer than 22 potential council members.

A NIGHT ON BROADWAY will be this Friday at 7:00 pm in the auditorium.  The cost is $5.  There will be local beloved performers, former and current students.  This will be a wonderful evening for all in the community.

WIT Hour of Code Summer Edition: Hosted by Adobe (3900 Adobe Way, Lehi, UT). Don’t get left behind – see what a future in technology looks like! The FREE day includes activities, presentations, demonstrations, and FUN for K – 12 students and their families. This will be on Saturday, May 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required (use code 70 85 78). Register at http://wit-hoc.eventbrite.com

Students! The custodians will be checking lockers and assessing fines before May 14. If there is any damage or anything that needs to be cleaned you will receive a fine slip in your locker and a fine will be added to your student account. Please check your lockers and make sure they are clean!

On May 20, directly after school, we will have locker clean out. Everyone plan on staying for a few minutes to clean out your lockers. If you have a fine, the custodians will be available to check your locker and clear your fine.

All Textbooks and Library Books and Fines are due to the Library by May 20th.
Also cafeteria lunch charges are also due that day.

Attention Seniors – please report ALL scholarships you have been offered to Mrs Jacobs in the Career Center. Even if you don’t accept it, please still report it!!

 Juniors and Seniors – Have you ever thought about attending an Ivy League School but not sure if it is for you? There is an open house on May 20th with representatives from Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn and Stanford. Come find out if Ivy League is for you!!

Are you interested in pursuing a degree in fashion, animation or pharmacy tech? There are scholarships available for you! See Mrs Jacobs in the Career Center for more information.

Need help prepping for the writing portion of the ACT, SAT or AP exams? Want help writing a personal statement for college admissions? See Mrs Jacobs in the Career Center for information about programs you can attend!

NHS Members!  Don't forget that your personal service hours for this semester are due on May 2 in room 2206.  Also, if you would like to come help finish the teacher appreciation project, you can meet in room 2206 on Thursday May 1 for an hour after school.
