Drivers Education

Requirements for license

  1. Complete Street Smart
  2. Complete Class 
  3. Complete Road/Range
  4. Pass Road Skills Test
  5. Complete Safety Trends Exam  https://secure.utah.gov/account/login.html

Learner’s/Practices permit 

  •  All students must have a permit before they will be allowed to do any driving.   

Online Class-  Must complete 

    1. ALL Assignments in canvas must be completed. 
      1. All completed within the 6 weeks or the class will need to be re-taken. You will need to pay the fee again. 
      2. Attend all Scheduled classes.  There will be a minimum of two in-class sessions.  Introduction to the class and Zero Fatalities. (The Zero Fatalities class will require a parent to attend also.
  • Street Smarts completed before the first day of the class.

In-Person Class

  • Must attend all classes. There is A Utah State Board of Education requirement of minimum seat time hours.   
  • Street Smarts completed before the first day of class. 

Range/Road

  1. Must sign up for 4 range times.
  2. Required 3 roading times with instructor.
  3. State Road skills Test.

You will receive .25 elective credits towards graduation.

Cost is $160.00 and is payable in the Student Finance Office or on myschoolfees.com.

*For non-OHS students choose Orem High and pay in Public Items*

ROAD / RANGE ONLY

If you did the classroom portion of Drivers Ed online and only need to do Road and Range you can sign up for that as well. Please contact Krysti Condie in the Student Finance office (801-610-8165). The cost is $160.00

Drivers Ed Summer 2023- Online
These two classes are for students in the Orem High School boundaries only.

May-July Online Class
Mandatory Orientation Meeting:
3:00–6:30 pm on May 31 in rm. 1209

*** One parent is required to attend a Zero Fatalities meeting with their student

on May 31 at 5:30 p.m. in the Auditorium
You will sign up for 4 range times from the following options.
May 31 – 7-9 pm June 1 – 6-8 am June 1 – 2-4 pm

June 2 – 6-8 am June 2 – 2-4 pm June 3 – 6-8 am June 3 – 8-10 am
You may start working on the online course immediately after the orientation meeting on May 31. It must be
complete by July 12.

If it is not completed on time you will need to pay to retake the class.

on June 26 at 5:30 p.m. in the Little Theater
You will sign up for 4 range times from the following options.

June 26 – 7-9 pm June 27 – 6-8 am June 27 – 8-10 am June 28 – 6-8 am
June 28 – 8-10 am June 29 – 6-8 am June 29 – 8-10 am June 30 – 6-8 am
You may start working on the online course immediately after the orientation meeting on June 26. It must be
complete by July 31. If it is not completed on time you will need to pay to retake the class.

**Roading for each class will be scheduled outside of the times listed above.

You must be 15 and be committed to 1) attend the orientation class, 2) complete the online course
on time 3) complete the Street Smarts Safety Course before Orientation (info given upon

registration) and 4) obtain your Learner’s Permit before class starts.

Cost is $160.00 and is payable in the OHS Student Finance Office or on myschoolfees.com.

Choose “Public Items” in MySchoolFees if you are an incoming OHS student from Jr. High.

You will receive .25 elective credit towards graduation.

June 1 – 9:30-11:30 am June 1 – 11:30-1:30 pm June 2 – 9:30-11:30 am
June 2 – 11:30-1:30 pm June 5 – 5:00-7:00 pm June 6 – 5:00 – 7:00 pm

June 8 – 6-8 am June 8 – 2-4 pm June 9 – 6-8 pm

7:30 a.m. in the Little Theater

You will sign up for 4 range times from the following options.
June 12 – 2-4 pm June 12 – 4-6 pm June 13 – 6-8 am
June 13 – 2-4 pm June 14 – 2-4 pm June 15 – 6-8 am
June 15 – 2-4 pm June 16 – 6-8 am June 16 – 2-4 pm
