Drivers Education

Requirements for license

  1. Complete Street Smart
  2. Complete Class 
  3. Complete Road/Range
  4. Pass Road Skills Test
  5. Complete Safety Trends Exam  https://secure.utah.gov/account/login.html

Learner’s/Practices permit 

  •  All students must have a permit before registering for a class.

Blended Class-  Must complete  (must be an OHS Student)

    1. Street Smarts completed before the first day of the class.
    2. You must attend all in person classes
    3. ALL Assignments in canvas must be completed. 
      1. All completed within the 6 weeks or the class will need to be re-taken. You will need to pay the fee again. 
      2. Must Attend all Scheduled classes.   
        1. Introduction to the class 
        2. Zero Fatalities. (The Zero Fatalities class will require a parent to attend also)
        3. Truck smarts.
        4. Donor Connect
        5. Railroad safety

In-Person Class  (Must be an OHS students)

  • Must attend all classes. There is A Utah State Board of Education requirement of minimum seat time hours.   
  • Street Smarts completed before the first day of class. 

Range/Road

  1. Must sign up for 4 range times.
  2. Required 3 roading times with instructor.
  3. State Road skills Test.

You will receive .25 elective credits towards graduation.

The cost is $200.00 and is payable in the Student Finance Office or on myschoolfees.com.

*For non-OHS students choose Orem High and pay in Public Items*

ROAD / RANGE ONLY

If you did the classroom portion of Drivers Ed online and only need to do Road and Range you can sign up for that as well. Please contact Krysti Condie in the Student Finance office (801-610-8165).

Road Test is included with Drivers Education

IF a RE-Test for the Road is needed the cost is $27

Drivers Ed Summer July 2024  Blended Class

These classes are for Orem High Students only

The blended class includes Online and In-Person Instruction.

Class begins on July 9. You must attend ALL scheduled In-Person meetings AND complete the Online course by August 13. If the course is not completed on time you will need to pay to retake the course. Roading and Ranging must be completed before November 1

Please assess your schedule and situation to be sure you can fulfill these requirements before signing up.

** Required Scheduled In-Person Classes:

July 9, 3:30-5:00 pm Class Orientation  (Little Theater)

You must bring your Chromebook

July 9, 5:30-6:30 pm Parent Night zero fatalities (Little Theater)

*(Parents must attend with student)

You will sign up for 4 range times during the orientation meeting from the following times:

July 9, 7-9pm

July 10, 6-8 am

July 10 8-10 am

July 11 6-8 am

July 11, 8-10 am

July 12 6-8 am

July 12, 8-10 am

July 13, 6-8 am

July 13, 8-10am

Roading will be scheduled individually.

You must be 15 and be committed to 1) attend both in-person meetings 2) complete the coursework on time 3) complete the Street Smarts Safety Course before the first day of class (info given upon registration) and 4) obtain your Learner Permit before class starts.

Cost is $200.00 and is payable in the OHS Student Finance Office or on myschoolfees.com

Choose “Public Items” in MySchoolFees if you are an incoming OHS student from Jr. High.

(If you qualify for fee waivers please talk to Mrs. Condie in the Student Finance Office.)

 You will receive .25 elective credit towards graduation.

Drivers Ed Fall 2024- TBA

You must be 15 and be committed to 1) attend every class, 2) complete the coursework on time 3) complete the Street Smarts Safety Course before the first day of class (info given upon registration) and 4) obtain your Learner Permit before class starts.
